I first met Karli and Scott when I photographed Asher as a newborn. This time I got to see him as a proud big brother and meet little Landon, too.
We met at Rope Mill Park in Woodstock for a family mini session with Asher, now five, and his little brother Landon, who is two. It’s a pretty fun feeling when the baby you remember photographing is suddenly the big brother.
Landon was a little shy when we first got started, which is completely normal. Fortunately, it didn’t take long for him to warm up. Before I knew it, he was all smiles.
Let the boys do their thing
Both boys were genuinely great at following directions, but I’m pretty sure their favorite instructions were the ones that involved running and playing. Mine too, honestly.
That’s one reason I love family mini sessions with little kids. We can get the portraits everyone wants, then give them room to move around and be themselves. No one needs to stand still for the entire session like they’re posing for a school picture in 1997.
It was so good catching up with Karli and Scott, seeing Asher in his big-brother era and getting to know Landon. These four made our time together so easy, with plenty of smiles and a little running around for good measure.
