Atlanta & North Georgia Family Photography

There's no perfect time to book family photos, but if you have a specific date or season in mind, earlier is always better. September through November is my busiest time of year, especially with families wanting updated photos for holiday cards.

Spring is another great option if you want greenery without the summer heat. If you're flexible on dates, reach out and we'll see what works.

That depends on your family's vibe. Whether you're drawn to open fields, wooded trails, urban backdrops or something more personal like an in-home session, there are plenty of great options throughout Atlanta and North Atlanta.

You don't need to have a location picked out before reaching out. Just tell me the kind of look you're going for, and I'll suggest some spots that fit your style. I'll also consider the season, lighting and how much room your kids might need to explore.

Then they'll be acting like kids. Completely normal.

I've photographed enough toddlers, preschoolers and reluctant teenagers to know that expecting everyone to sit still and smile on command isn't particularly realistic. I keep family photography sessions relaxed and moving, with plenty of breaks when needed.

If your toddler wants to explore, we'll explore. If your child needs a few minutes to warm up, we'll give them space. Some of my favorite photos happen when kids are just being themselves instead of trying to follow instructions.

Start with clothes that feel comfortable and look like your family. I recommend coordinating colors rather than wearing perfectly matching outfits.

Sometimes the easiest approach is to pick Mom's outfit first, especially if it's a dress or something with multiple colors. Then pull a few colors from that outfit to coordinate the rest of the family. It creates a cohesive look without making everyone look like they're wearing a uniform.

Avoid large logos, overly busy patterns and anything your kids will spend the entire session trying to take off. If you need help pulling outfits together, send me your options. I'm happy to help.

Golden hour, usually the hour before sunset, is one of my favorite times for outdoor family photography. The light is soft, warm and flattering.

But if you have young kids, early morning sessions are also a great option. The light is beautiful, and little ones are often happier and more cooperative before they've had an entire day to wear themselves out.

I'm also a big fan of overcast skies, which give us beautiful, even lighting and more flexibility throughout the day. We'll plan your session around the season, location and, most importantly, what works for your family.

My mini family sessions last approximately 20–30 minutes, while full sessions run 45–60 minutes.

Mini sessions are great for quick family updates, milestones or families who prefer to keep things short. Full sessions give us more time to explore, take breaks and capture a wider variety of images.

My edited galleries are typically delivered within 2–4 weeks of your family photography session. If you're planning to use your photos for holiday cards, I recommend keeping that turnaround in mind when scheduling.

If you're working with a tighter deadline, just let me know before your session. I'll see what I can do to accommodate a quicker turnaround. I know holiday card deadlines have a way of sneaking up on people.

Absolutely! I photograph multi-generational family sessions throughout Atlanta and North Georgia, including grandparents, adult siblings, cousins and everyone in between.

We can get the whole group together, individual family combinations, grandparents with grandchildren and plenty of candid moments along the way. If you're planning an extended family session, let me know how many people will be joining so we can plan the timing and location accordingly.

Always yes, as long as the location allows dogs. They're part of the family, too.

I'm happy to include your pets in group portraits, candid moments and photos with the kids. Just let me know ahead of time so we can choose a dog-friendly location and plan accordingly.

We'll keep an eye on the weather leading up to your session. Overcast skies are actually great for photography, so a cloudy forecast isn't a reason to reschedule.

If we're expecting heavy rain or weather that makes an outdoor session miserable, I'm always happy to reschedule at no additional charge. I'd rather move your session than have everyone cold, wet and counting down the minutes until they can leave.

Yes! In-home family photography sessions are a great option if you want something more personal and relaxed.

We can photograph your family hanging out in the living room, playing in the kids' rooms, baking together or simply doing whatever you'd normally do at home. These sessions are less about perfectly posed portraits and more about capturing what life actually looks like right now.

And no, your house doesn't need to be spotless. We just need some good natural light and a few spots cleared of clutter.

Of course! Family photography doesn't have to be limited to annual portraits or holiday cards. I photograph first birthdays, toddler milestones, growing families and plenty of other occasions worth documenting.

We can focus on the birthday kid, include the whole family or do a little of both. Whether your child is turning one or ten, we'll plan a session that fits their age and personality.

My family photography sessions start at $425 for a mini session, which includes 20–30 minutes and at least 20 hand-edited digital images.

Full sessions are $625 and include 45–60 minutes and at least 50 edited images. All packages include both color and black-and-white edits with print rights.
