I have been photographing Louesa and Kevin’s family for years, and it is always so fun to see how much their kids have grown from session to session. The last time I saw Peter was for his newborn session, when he was just a tiny little nugget.
This at-home family session in Smyrna was the perfect way to document this season for their family. We photographed right in Louesa and Kevin’s front yard garden, which made everything feel relaxed, personal, and easy. The overcast weather was also doing its job beautifully, giving us soft light without anyone squinting like they were staring directly into the sun. Always a win.
Marlowe brought the best big sister energy and was so sweet with Peter. I also loved seeing how Louesa’s love of flowers and plants has clearly passed down to her. There is something really special about photographing a family in a space that already means something to them, especially when the kids are growing up surrounded by it.
These are the sessions I love most: simple, playful, meaningful, and full of the little details that make a family feel like themselves.
